Where is the past, present, and future? The past is the castle which has been there for centuries, the present is the abject poverty in this Old San Juan neighborhood just below, and the future is represented by the ocean which can bring to Puerto Rico whatever opportunities exist going forward. It is amazing to see this line of demarcation where the tourists go to the castle, but would never consider going into the impoverished neighborhoods below.
This chain is alongside a building at Gustafson Family Vineyards in Dry Creek Valley. It is actually used as a water spout. So when it rains, the water travels down the side of the building along the chain, similar to the way it would drain down a spout.
This jazz wall is across the street from a new great venue for the jazz in San Francisco called the SFJAZZ Center. It’s located at the edge of the Hayes Valley neighborhood at the corner of Franklin and Fell streets. I have not been to the venue yet, but plan to catch a show there some time in 2014. It opened in January, 2013 and looks it like an exquisite venue for live jazz. Here is where you can get more info http://www.sfjazz.org/
