I’ve been holding on to this image for a long time. Now that 2014 has come and gone, I can let it go. On July 8, 2014, we experienced a flood within our house. This picture was taken in my office space around September 9th after the movers had taken the furniture into storage in preparation for the restoration work. From July 8th until October 6th, 2014 (furniture returned) our living situation was upside down as a result of the flood. Here’s to a better 2015!
I have to thank Flour Girl Bakery in Cloverdale for this cake capture. They were one of the many vendors at the Bacigalupi Family‘s 50th Anniversary Celebration and Third Anniversary Vineyard Designate Tasting. It was a wonderful day featuring the many wines that use Bacigalupi Vineyards’ grapes. Ironically, my current consumption of this kind of food is minimal to none, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be captured and visually enjoyed.
This carousel horse is from the Golden Gate Park Carousel in San Francisco. These are special places that have a timeless enchantment with calliope music and the variety of glossy animals. I was struck by the fierce look of this horse juxtaposed with the fun-loving child-like nature of a merry-go-round.
This flamenco dance stage is located in a restaurant in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico where we had lunch on a recent visit. There will be frantic activity on this stage tonight; for now, we’ll have to imagine and enjoy the possibilities.
This chain is alongside a building at Gustafson Family Vineyards in Dry Creek Valley. It is actually used as a water spout. So when it rains, the water travels down the side of the building along the chain, similar to the way it would drain down a spout.
