This is a view of a water tower that is located at Martin Ray Winery in the Russian River Valley. This shot was taken around 11 a.m., so the fog you see here is definitely a slow lifting, late morning fog in western Sonoma County. The location of this shot was on Vine Hill Road, just north of Guerneville Road on the morning of January 1, 2014. In the foreground, you have your typical dormant vineyard. I expect that pruning will come soon around late January, early February. Then again, this hasn’t been a normal winter with a record lack of rain so far.
